A chemical peel and IPL combination treatment review by our client Tascha Strauss (Burpees & Biscuits Blog).
A massive regret I have is not spending more time and money on my skin from an earlier age. If I only knew the wonders that a skincare therapist could do I would’ve done this in my 20’s.
Hitting 38 this year I’m so happy to have found someone that I can trust and someone that knows not only me and my lifestyle but also knows my skin. It’s so important for that person to really know you, to put them in a position to effectively treat your skin.
Schanette is that person for me. Her knowledge astonishes me every single time I walk into her calm and serene treatment room. It’s beautifully light and bright and filled with all the products she recommends and all the gadgets that keep me looking youthful.
And at 38 I can truly say my skin looks youthful. It was however not the case up until 6 months ago. I have struggled with breakouts, uneven skin texture and fine lines.
The first consultation with Schanette is all about gathering us much information as possible, she really needs to understand your lifestyle and your skin and sometimes you might think there’s no helping you then she comes with a solution.
Our first call of action was to change the products I was using. For my specific skin type and concerns she recommended the Lamella Clarity Range and I could not have asked for anything better. I was blown away by the results and this was just step 1.
To further address my concerns she recommended a series of treatments consisting of 2 chemical peels and two IPL treatments. The treatments are alternated over a period of 4 months. Each treatment takes place 28 days apart.
The first treatment we did was the Retistore Chemical Peel. It targets pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, spots and blemishes.
After 28 days I did the IPL treatment. This treatment is used for skin rejuvenation, anti ageing and assists in acne prone skin.
The reason for alternating between the treatments are to give the individual treatments time to penetrate the skin and restore and prepare it for the next treatment. It is important to visit your skincare therapist once a month regardless of whether you are in a treatment cycle or not. To maintain a healthy skin you need to do regular visits.
After having Schanette look after the health of my skin for the past 6 months I can truly say I love the skin I’m in. I don’t feel the need to lather make up on my skin but rather proudly go out make up free. Having that feeling makes you feel so empowered.
In my line of work I am client facing all day long and looking your best is of utmost importance. During 2020 we’ve converted to zoom meetings and having only my face on screen I had to be presentable. During numerous of these meetings did I feel confident enough donning only some blush and a bright lipstick on my face as I felt my skin needed no covering up.
To say someone has changed your live is a pretty big and bold statement but I can truly say Schanette has.
Even though these 4 treatments made a massive change on my skin it is of vital importance to continue going to a skin therapist. As we age so does our skin and we need to adapt to our age and the environment. What I need now I might not need in 5 years. I look forward to walking this path with Schanette and Chame!
